One of the most challenging things about moving to a new city is finding good, vetted doctors—your new primary care physician, dermatologist, OB-GYN, therapist, and more. The luxury of NYC is that you’re spoilt for choice, but sometimes you just want the top 5–10 recommendations. So we asked the ladibug lounge community for their go-to providers. Here’s who they recommended:
OBGYN
-
Spring OBGYN (came in A LOT) - a 100% female clinic, so warm and cozy - specifically love Dr Jenny Vacchani
-
Downtown OBGYN - also came in a hot second
-
NYU Langone - specifically Willada Loch
-
Weil Cornell Medicine - specifically Dr. Po Ching Fong, Dr Szilvia Nagy
Pelvic PT
-
Flow Physio - Brooklyn
-
Mims Method - Dr. Dan
-
Spear - specifically Jamie Lief, Delaney Wallance
Acupuncture
-
WTHN - Flatiron
-
Acupuncture Tribeca - specifically Dr. Solomon.
-
Moxi - Soho
Primary Care (my personal recommendation for primary care is to go to the larger orgs like Mt Sinai or NYU - the care has been more consistent than random clinics in the city)
-
Mt Sinai - specifically Dr Molly Grover, Dr. Tanzina Nawrin, Dr. Kimberly Scotto
-
NYU Langone - specifically Dr Peggy Elango
PCOS nutritionist
-
Dr Basma Faris, MD, OBGYN & Nutritionist (I’ve met her and she is amazing)
-
Allara Health - online only
Therapists (tip: if these clinics say they are fully booked, they will often give you good recommendations for other contacts - always ask)
-
Women’s CBT - wonderful for women who are experiencing specific female health issues i.e. autoimmune diseases, infertility, cancer, endometriosis etc
Dermatology
-
Spring Street Dermatology - specifically the one in Soho
-
Washington Square Dermatology - specifically, Dr Michelle Park or Dr Susanna Franks
-
City Derm NYC - specifically, Dr Catherine Ding
Lymphatic Drainage
-
Remedy by Rhed - West Village
-
Body Concept - specifically ask for Nina
Female health focused clinics (covers all issues such as hormonal issues, etc)
-
Tia Health (everything from OBGYN, hormonal health, pregnancy, mental health, annual physical etc)
-
Allara Health (specialises in hormonal health, great for PCOS & endo girlies - it is a subscription model though)
-
Maven Clinic (great for pregnancy and postpartum)
-
Kindbody (great for fertility, pregnancy, trying to conceive)
And for all my blonde hair girlies, Brandon at Bond Salon in Hoboken. He is literally amazing. I tried so many places in Manhattan and have never been impressed.
