Perimenopause and Postmenopause
In the U.S, 1.3 million go through menopause each year. Menopause is not a disease or disorder — it is a normal part of aging ❤️
Perimenopause is the stage leading up to your last period; typically, this stage starts sometime in your mid 40s. During perimenopause, levels of estrogen and other reproductive hormones fluctuate unpredictably. You may experience a range of symptoms, including hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and urinary incontinence. When you’ve gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, you’ve officially entered your postmenopausal years.
